The best pharmacy

Old people are aging gracefully but due to wear and tear of body; all kinds of medications are given and prescribed to ease those achy joints. Over the counter and prescribed drugs are available in the pharmacy. Walgreens is here to serve the aging and people who are sick in the Castro and all over the Bay area. Walgreens has been the biggest pharmacy in San Francisco. Last 2 years ago, the drug chain took over all the Rite-aid pharmacy in San Francisco. The merger was a success and due to this Walgreens were able to serve the community with better location and bigger space. Walgreens located at 18th Castro is a good example of a neighborhood drug store which is opened 24 hours a day and 365 days that are willing to open and serve the community in times of needs. However, Walgreens is not an ordinary drug store that fills, dispenses drugs and sells gift wraps but interpersonal communication happens between patients and pharmacy personnel. Furthermore, the drug chain stores is not just a store but part of the community.
The main goal of the pharmacy is to serve people during regular hours and off hours. Especially during Thanksgiving Day or Christmas, people are busy in preparing dinner and the stress of catching a flight can lead to people forgetting to pack their medication. The next thing you know other pharmacies are closed for the holidays and you needs your medication. Walgreens is the pharmacy where you can rely on to get your prescription and call your insurance if it’s too early.   Clerks are trained to provide good costumer services and to accommodate patient needs. In the pharmacy, staffs are fast, efficient and well trained. According to Bay Area Reporter, Walgreens in 18th and Castro is the pharmacy to choose from, it’s been open for 28 years proudly serving, supporting, and caring for customers in the Castro. Sharon Woo, store manager, provides a range of services and try to accommodate the demands and needs of her diverse customers and staff. For instance, she will try to order merchandise for customers even though the store doesn’t usually carry the item. In addition, Brett Murdy will help you solve any insurance problems or any prescription related problems. Only this store, one can load your MUNI Clipper Card and at the same time engage in a good conversation with the staff.  In general the store has a lot to offer, a convenient Wells Fargo ATM in the back where people can withdraw and deposit checks while waiting for their 1 hour photo or 30 minutes prescriptions. The line usually moves pretty quick so it doesn't look busy. Cashiers are trained to open more registers if more than 3 people are standing in line. This Walgreens is considered to be a community store and giving back to the community is part of their mission.
With all the profits and revenue made each year, Walgreens also tries to give back to the community by doing community services. The company created a Community Leader position in 2009. These 1,300 Community Leaders now identify and create local events each year. Executive vice president of operations and community management, Mark Wagner encourages all local community leaders to be an active part of their neighborhood by joining the PTA or getting to know the city council and help out in the community. Sharon Woo has been active in going to Chinatown and helping out the community by cleaning the streets and doing marathons for charity. Knowing this, the company really wants to live up to its creed.
I highly recommend this location because it has a great variety of sale items every week and they also give out flu shots every day with no appointment needed. In addition, the staffs are very hard working and friendly. It is a very convenient because it has everything from over the counter medicines to tuna sandwiches. Walgreens is the best pharmacy in town.
